Another burst water pipe caused by a Fibre Optic company

A fibre optic company installing cables in and around Essex Road, Vincent has burst a water pipe resulting in residents and businesses being without water for almost two days.

Furious residents lashed out at the fibre optic company for having further inconvenienced them as they plan for a national lock down.

“We need water, especially now with the Covid-19 situation. How must we sanitize and keep things clean without water?” questioned an elderly resident as he watched the Buffalo City Metro Water Works workers attempt to repair the water pipe.

“I don’t know the name of the contractors, but they damaged the main water pipe here in Vincent by Western Avenue. We have a problem with these different contractors and the way they do their work. It give us a huge problem to come after their negligence and get insulted by the public,” explained one BCM Water Works employee.

Buffalo City Metro’s spokesperson could not be reached for comment regarding this issue and neither could we reach the fibre optic company.

This is a developing story.
