BKCOB thanks well-wishers

The Border Kei Chamber of Business (BKCOB) thanks everyone for all the heartfelt condolences sent to the BKCOB as well as to Les’ family and friends.

This follows the passing of Les Holbrook, former Executive Director of the Border Kei Chamber of Business, on March 11.

“On this Leadership Day, we honor Les and the active role he played in our community’s economy. We remember and pay tribute to a great leader who has fallen. Les served the business community as the Chamber’s Executive Director for 29 years before retiring on December 31, 2020.

We applaud him for the legacy he has left, and we will continue to build where he left off, for the benefit of the business community and the city as a whole.
On this day, we remember him warmly for the jokes, laughing, and good cheer he spread. We recall his taking a harsh stance in meetings at times.

Today, we pay respect to and celebrate his life, as well as the impact he had on our community. We say, “Rest well, Les, since you’ve worked hard and run a good race. We stand on the shoulders of great giants who have gone before us, such as yourself. Until the next time we meet.

Les will be cremated in a private ceremony attended by only his family. Details of his memorial service will be made public once they have been confirmed with his wife, Mrs Tish Holbrook,” media release from BKCOB reads.

Submitted by Lizelle Maurice on behalf of the Staff & Executive Committee of the Chamber.
