Glitz, glamour, heels, wheels, and a lot, lot more. That’s what patrons and participants can expect at the exhilarating Heels and Wheels event being hosted at Durban’s premier entertainment destination, Suncoast, on March 26 and 27.
Hosted by radio personality, Jayshree Parasuramen, and backed by an array of entertainers, corporates, small business and exhibitors, the event promises to be a feast for the senses.
“Visitors are guaranteed an unforgettable experience. The motor industry has always been associated with men- this event certainly aims to topple that status quo. Women will be in the featured in every area, behind the wheels of supercars, learning skills like how to change a tyre (men can also benefit from this), mixing music on decks and so more. There is an attraction for every age group,” said Parasuramen.
The two-day event, at the casino’s car park, will be held under the banner of Heels and Wheels, with the show stopping event, being the International Auto Sound Challenge Association’s (IASCA) sound-off event. This event invites entrants to face off, by decibels. Naturally a sound enthusiast is also a car enthusiast; hence visitors can expect to feast their eye on classic cars, super cars and modified cars as a treat. Ever wonder how women manage in heels? Watch them ride supercars in convoy in those heels!
Parasuramen, who spearheaded the ‘Women Empowering Women’ initiative, to uplift women and girls, encouraged families to come along on either of the two days, to listen, learn and experience the thrills while being empowerment. “Heels and Wheels recognises the contribution and growth of women in the motoring industry and would like to inspire more women and young girls to break the bias associated with all things motor. We thought it would be a great event to round up International Women’s Month” added Parasuramen.
Beside the car display, show and shine competition, food stalls, comedy and prizes and giveaways, motor industry experts will be on hand to offer advice. Tickets can be purchased through Quicket. The Rising Sun Community Newspapers Group is the proud media sponsor of this exhilarating and empowering event. There are a few stalls available for exhibitors.
