The Metro has closed down all activities along Nahoon Beach as officials attempt to dispose of a dead washed-up whale.
Areas closed for now include Nahoon Beach, Nahoon Point and Nahoon Corner. People are urged not to touch or cut pieces, as whales carry disease and in terms of the law, one cannot be in possession of any part of the cetaceans.
Officials are busy with the disposing and will be monitoring the situation over the next few days. Depending on the tides and outcomes, decisions will be taken. BCM stated it is dangerous to use the beach as this may attract additional shark activity.
