Pink Fairy aims to raise R10,000 for SPCA

The Stutt Property Shoppe Magical Mountains MTB Ride will be held on 04th March and is expected to be another fun-filled morning out in the beautiful Amathole Mountains.

The annual event now in its third year is once again aimed at raising funds for the Amahlathi SPCA which are always in dire need of help.

The event is held in conjunction with the first Farmers Market of the Year, with lots of awesome food and stalls.

All proceeds from this event are donated to the SPCA and with the help of the mountain biking community, the Pink Fairy, Mike Webb is hoping to once again raise at least R10 000 for the embattled SPCA.  Times are tough and with the Queenstown floods even more, the strain has been placed on the Amahlathi SPCA so every cent helps.

The event starts and finishes at the spectacular Eagles Ridge Hotel in the heart of the Amathole Mountains and the 45 km Route goes up into the mountains on Gravel roads, through Indigenous forests, past waterfalls, and works its way to Gubu Dam before returning via the main gravel road and a bit of single track. It is tough but the views make it well worth the effort.

“This is a fun ride, not a race and participants are encouraged to dress up as their favourite “winged creatures “ and just enjoy the scenery. Prizes for the Best dressed and more fun prizes are the order of the day as with all Pink Fairy events,” explains Mike.

There will also be lucky draw prizes with a weekend at the Historic Hogsback Inn as the main draw (you need to be present to win this prize).

Goody bags and T–Shirts will be presented to the first 100 entrants in the 45 km Event and medals for the first 20 entries in the 5km event.

The event also has a 5 Km MTB Run / Ride or Walk for the less adventurous and not-so-fit. For park runners, this is an ideal opportunity to do the Stutt park run at 08.00 am and then pop over to Eagles ridge for the 5km.

45 km MTB – R150 (7.30 am)
5 km MTB /Run or Walk – R50  (9.00am)

Entries are available at The Bike Yard and Cycle HQ or on Facebook at Pink Fairy Multisport or contact Mike at 084 597 8254.
