A number of learners will not have to go to school on an empty stomach anymore and can now have a meal before entering the classroom.
This is possible through the generosity of Nates Car Sales, which donated R24,000 to schools in Zwelitsha, King Williams Town.
According to Nates Car Sales owner, Nathanael Padayachee, the Department of Social Development identified schools with learners that daily came to school on an empty stomach.
“When I heard this, I was touched and had to do something. Children should never go to school on an empty stomach as that will demotivate them. Nates Car Sales is not only giving the children food but also hope, hope that there are people who will help when they have nothing,” We are always there for the community and ready to help the best way we know how,” added Nathanael.
He shared his appreciation to everyone who supports his brand, including customers and staff, concluding that none of this would be possible if it was not for their backing.
The Department of Social Development also handed over school uniforms to schools as part of the Back to School Campaign.
