East London resident, Siyanda Xegwana (25), who was born in King William’s Town is vying for the title of Mr South Africa. Xegwana was raised in Durban and spent his adolescent years in Cape Town. He is currently an IT student at Walter Sisulu University in East London.
“I started modeling in 2017 with Apollo Management in King Williams Town and freelanced in 2019. I am also a model for TC Model Management in East London.” Xegwana
originally wanted to participate in the pageant in 2020 but did not as he felt that he lacked many attributes that were required to participate.
Xegwana believes that Mr. South Africa is someone who should be the face of this beautiful country – an inspiration to the youth. Xegwana feels he now possesses the attributes that are required to participate in a pageant of this magnitude. He hopes to be an inspiration to his peers so they can strive to be better.
In 2018, Xegwana entered the Mr Walter Sisulu pageant and was crowned King. He was also a finalist for Mr Berlin November 2019.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank my family, friends, and everyone who supported me throughout this journey and voted for me to be in the top 30,” added a grateful Xegwana.
The race is still on and he requires more votes to take him to the next level. To support Xegwana reach the top, please SMS MRSA19 to 404309.
The Eastern Cape Rising Sun takes this opportunity in wishing Siyanda Xegwana all the best.
