Stutterheim business to the rescue

Dean Palmer a Stutterheim businessman strives to support fund raising and charity work for the less fortunate. Dean recently organised a wheelchair for Louis “Boeki” Ruiters from Amatoleville.

Louis was in desperate need for a wheelchair but never had money to buy one.

Dean approached Rotary and Geoff Smith to ask for assistance in organising the wheelchair for Boeki, but they were put on hold due to the Pandemic  and waited patiently for the container with the wheelchairs to arrive.

“We organized 15 wheelchairs for people in need and Boeki was one of them,” said Palmer.

Boeki has always been paralyzed from his waist down and has been for numerous operations since his birth. “My dream of receiving and owning a wheelchair has finally come true,” said Boeki.

It made his life much easier and less stressful in getting around and attending school. “As long as I can and in any way possible, I will be involved in community upliftment and charity work,” added Palmer.
